How can eye lid and face lifts compete in this era of noninvasive lunch-time procedures like
Botox, fillers,
Fraxel, IPL’s, and
Thermage?
I’ve practiced facial plastic and cosmetic surgery at Atlanta-based Kim Facial Plastic Surgery center for nearly 15 years. Back in 1998, I offered
Botox and collagen injections when they were considered cutting edge, but hadn’t yet received FDA approval. Today, I’m considered an expert in facial cosmetic surgery and minimally invasive procedures and see over 80 patients a month for
Botox and fillers, such as
Radiesse and
Juvederm. I also offer various skincare lasers like IPL’s,
Fraxel, Erbium, Q-Swith, etc.
Though I see benefits to these innovative products, I do not consider them a substitute for face lifting surgery, which is the gold standard by which every other procedure should be measured against. I often use
Botox and
Juvederm to complement the facelift, but when face lifting is not an option, due to health reasons or recovery times, these minimally invasive procedures can take the primary role in improving appearance.
I perform facelifts in my office under local anesthesia without the use of hospitals or outpatient surgery centers. I’ve now performed over 1,400
one-hour facelifts, which is my version of the modified face lift. The benefits of this procedure are many: no need for dangerous general anesthesia, no lengthy recovery, at a much less cost. This affordable procedure takes care of 90% of the jowls and neck turkey deformity that’s associated with aging. The
one-hour facelift does not yield lesser results than traditional facelifts. It’s performed with the normal skin excision and permanent facial muscle tightening, but with much faster and easier recovery. It’s the “modern day facelift;” easy, safe, walk in-walk out, quick recovery, and of course lower cost!
The
one-hour facelift procedure can be combined with other ancillary procedures like fat injection to obtain an optimal outcome. Face lifting is a two dimensional procedure. Replacing lost volume with one’s own fat (harvested usually from the abdomen) offers a natural way to enhance a youthful look. I have offered the one-hour face lift with fat injections now for over seven years and believe it is the best combination procedure for looking younger at any age. If you have a week or ten days to recover from a procedure, I promise you will end up looking 10 to 15 years younger.
Retaining your youthful appearance takes great genes and avoiding direct sunlight and smoking, but when natural aging results in sagging skin and a tired appearance, consult with an experienced qualified facial plastic surgeon to discuss your best alternatives. Whether it’s
Botox,
Fraxel,
Thermage, a
one-hour facelift or a combination of these different alternatives, we’d appreciate the opportunity to assist you. Feel free to give us a call at Kim Facial Plastic surgery, (770) 458-4255 and visit our website at www.kimfacialsurgery.com.
