How it works
Liposuction eliminates unwanted pockets of fat from neck, arms, tummy or from any other areas of the body. This can usually be performed under local anesthesia with mild sedation. Tumescent micro-cannula liposuction technique is used which at this time is the gold standard by which all other techniques of liposuction is measured. In this technique, anesthetic liquid is infiltrated to the area to be liposuctioned. Very mild discomfort during this time may be experienced, followed by micro cannula insertion and suctioning of the unwanted fat.
What you can expect after surgery
Dr. Kim’s office will give you detailed instructions on how to care for yourself after surgery. Following liposuction, you can expect a degree of swelling and pain, but you will find relief with mild pain medication and cold packs. You will be wearing a tight-fitting elastic dressing right after the procedure for just a few days; this may continue at night for as long as a few weeks.
